Garlic Basil Marinara Sauce

  • 2 large tomatoes
  • 3 oz. of tomato paste
  • 1/2 tbsp fresh chopped basil
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 clove of garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon onion (chopped fine)
  • Salt, pepper and cayenne pepper to taste

Directions:

Using a food processor puree tomatoes to desired smooth consistency.
Pour into sauce pan and add broth, paste, basil, garlic, oregano and onion.
Cook slowly for about 45 minutes. Stir often and add salt, pepper and cayenne pepper
during simmer to desired taste.
You may add additional water while cooking to achieve desired consistency.

(Makes 1 serving – Perfect for Phase 2)
